"Lower attaining pupils are supported to a much greater extent" (Year 2 teacher)

"I like the way that all the resources I need are provided in the IPM teachers' manuals. This saves me a lot of time on a day to day basis, and allows me more time to concentrate on the quality of my teaching" (Year 3 teacher)

Evidence of pupil progress

Massive rise in attainment with IPM
Six years ago when IPM lesson materials first began to be developed, standards of mathematical attainment in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (the first borough to use the materials) were among the lowest in the country.

Standards (as measured by the KS1 tests) are now so improved that LBBD has achieved the national average, and continues to improve.

This chart shows the progress made by Barking & Dagenham schols between 1995 and 2001 at KS2

Barking & Dagenham schools beat the national average at level 4 and above in 2001.
